News - March, 2007

well
we just wrapped up the 4 year anniversary at the phoenix
exile on main street
i sang it
it changed my life
first of all
i'm a lot older now
and singing a double album takes a ton of work
i don't know how some of the alumni do it
i'm in pretty good shape
but this album nearly killed me
but that's not true
after the show a bunch of us headed out to clifton's gig
and partied it up there
i got on stage with his band and sang a sets worth of songs
it was the next morning (afternoon) that really did me in
i'd had lots of drinks that night
but it was like the euphoria of the evening kept me straight and true
a great great great night

as we enter our 5th year
i think it imperative to puff up and beat our chests a bit
we just solidified vegas
we just signed up rhode island
florida is seeing us do 4 - 5 shows a month
the eastern tour just added another fall - giving us 21 shows in the maritimes a year
all of the ontario theatres are booking us solid well into 2009
i get dizzy scrolling the main page of the site
the series is turning into a very cool thing to be into
extra weirdness for me is that i'm starting to get recognized everywhere i go
i was on the phone with some call centre and the operator couldn't say enough about the series
what really alarms people is my hair
i've grown it out
i look like marc bolan / mikey dolenz / greg brady
truly a mid life crisis is taking root
but i think it looks good with the new CAL shirts!!!

yes we have T shirts
i always thought it was kind of crass to do the hard sell
but people kept asking for them
so we got a bunch made
we sold some at the phoenix
but they weren't flying out of the door
i made it real nice quality
give me a year of hauling them around
and i'll be throwing them off the stage at the phoenix 5 year anniversary

did you know that we're getting close to 4 million hits a year on the site
wow
i keep checking just to make sure that i got it right
there just seems to be something about the site that people like
it feels like a community
i try to stay off the message board
but i can't help myself
i wonder if my presence there filters the free speech or something
i just want people to call 'em as they see 'em

thanks to all of our hometown toronto friends family and fans
for discovering the series
and supporting it for 4 solid years
we're not going to let up anytime soon
classic albums live will be with us a long long time

peace and prosperity
