greetings all
i had a heavy life defining moment
my son asked me to buy him the green day album
he's 7
so off we went - (i buy all of my albums)
we threw it on in the car and cranked it
man what an album
i tried not to rock out too much
because this was his album
he sat there reading the lyrics
we talked about protest songs
and peace songs
and swearing
and punk rock
and the war in iraq
this is what good music does - it educates us and defines us and enables us to make decisions - and you can head bang too
it was one of the greatest afternoons of my life
and i was blown away that luke's first album is so totally cool
i mean my first album was the partridge family
i went from that to alice coopers greatest hits
anyway
i think in the years to follow
american idiot will be regarded as a classic album
and i can't wait to do it
so
what i'm trying to say is that i don't see any end in sight
i think we can go forever
there's a ton of great music out there
and any second now some kid in some inner city is going to reinvent rock n' roll
and we'll all be the better for it

peace and prosperity

craig
