I met Rob in an airport. We were stuck for a guitarist/singer for a Dark Side show in Vancouver. Rob came highly recommended by my friend Des Leahy ( who is a great guitarist in his own right). I had a good vibe on Rob over the phone. He spoke fluidly and there was a grace to him.

Once at the gig I never let him leave my sights. Here he was, based on a phone conversation, about to lead the Floyd without so much as a rehearsal in front of 1200 people at the Commodore. The second he plugged in I knew I had made the right decision.

Rob is perfect for CAL. He has a better memory than most computers. He takes control on stage without having to lift more than an eyebrow. I've seen him captivate thousands and thousands of people over the years that we've been together. Audiences respond to him. One fan got in touch saying that shaking hands with Rob was monumental because he considered Rob one of the greatest musicians in the world. I've been saying that for years.

On the road, Rob is a blast. He's like my inner voice whispering things to me. He makes me laugh whenever I have a mouthful of food. We've seen a lot of North America together. He's become a close friend to many of us.

Rob's musicianship mirrors his life: cool and correct.
