I can't remember how we came to have Murray as part of the alumni. It's like he was always there. Reliable and strong, his performances are fantastic.

When we started working on the Joshua Tree, I knew that Murray had the right sound to capture Bono. So there we were at the Phoenix soundchecking. Q107 sent a truck down to do a live feed to help promote the show. We did 'Red Hill Mining Town'. That moment on the radio shattered all any doubt in anyone's mind that we were taking on too much with JT. The sound of his voice tore the city's speakers up.

Most of us know Murray for his work on the Dark Side shows. His assortment of toys and thingamajiggs are unparalleled. Des pointed out that when Murray starts the cash register sequence at the beginning of time - the reaction is always the same no matter what venue we're in - first there's little laughs at the man shaking a gumball machine and stroking a lampshade, and then once they realize that he makes it sound exactly like the record they break out into joyous applause.
Right on.

This is the year when I'm going to start moving Murray into some other albums. We look forward to seeing him bring new wonder to the series.
