Marty is one of the crowd faves. Since the beginning I've tried hard to curb our personalities and let the music do the talking. But Marty cannot be curbed. He is a true performer with the greatest voice and percussion skills to match.

He has played with lots of Canadian bands over the years but I feel that despite a long legacy of recording and touring, he does his best work in CAL. He harmonizes effortlessly. He should have been in CSNY. And all of his percussion toys and instruments make us smile and feel wonderment.

I sincerely hope he doesn't mind me telling this but Marty beat cancer some years ago. I have never met anyone who lives life with such joy and positivity. He's been there for many of us at times when we needed a sounding board or a shoulder to lean on. That says a lot about a person. I always take what he says to heart.

My favourite show for Marty is the Supertramp show. He really shines vocally on their albums. But he can do anything. We worked our asses off on the Pink Floyd 'Animals' album, but it was his toy sheep cans that went 'BAAA' that stole the show.

There is a special role that Marty has in the series. It's undefinable. It takes the music and elevates it. He has been with us since the beginning. We all love Marty.
