Carlia was recommended to me by Shain Honkenen's Mom, Cindy. We were in a tight spot for a singer to sing 'Battle of Evermore' off of the Zep 4 album. In walks Carlia, young and beautiful, very quiet and wide eyed. Suddenly she's on stage with the CAL Zep band. She nailed it. It was perfect and precise.

Since then Carlia has been a mainstay in Florida. I had a talk with her father, expressing concerns about how much work I had for her and how that would affect her education. I didn't want her cutting classes. Her father said that her being on stage was what she wanted and to book her as much as possible. I did.
She more or less lived at the Paradise Theater during our run last year.

My favourite story about Carlia occurred during the Very Lennon Christmas shows. At the Hard Rock we explained the history of Bagism to her and Lindsay. During the show the two of them crawled inside a large white bad and kind of moved around on stage. We all were howling. It was wonderful and I think even Yoko would have smiled.

Effortless and cool. That's Carlia. She's one of us. I hope to bring her to Canada for a show one day.
