dale got in touch with me
3 years ago fresh out of school
he said he wanted to get into the music business
possibly as a publicist
i met him for coffee
it was okay
then he came to a rehearsal with me
and he was so cool with all of the musicians
really friendly and gentle
i decided right there that i would hire him
in effect
i gave him the keys to the kingdom
a publicists dream
he's gotten me so much press
every paper
every radio show
lots of TV
sometimes at the gigs we have him doing ridiculous stuff
sneaking the band beer while they're on stage
tuning guitars
loading drums
pulling the curtain open
finding obscure things
he's always there when you need him
my favourite memory is when alex lifeson lent us his guitars
me and dale were like little kids
getting ridiculous pictures of ourselves with them
it was very rock n' roll
